Creating a Managed Social Media Agent

SOP ID: BCW-AI-001 Version: 1.0 Date: September 2026 Owner: BConnected World
Purpose: Step-by-step guide for building a managed AI agent that generates, schedules, and publishes social media content across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn — including initial draft/approval setup and transition to auto-publish.
1

Generate the Agent Prompt Using Ask AI

  1. Navigate to Ask AI in the platform.
  2. Type a prompt describing the agent's role. Include the following:
    • Platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn
    • Volume: 30 posts per month (1 per day)
    • Schedule: 8:00am AEST daily
    • Post requirements: Image + caption + call to action
    • Call to action: Your website URL
    • First comments on Facebook & LinkedIn: website URL
    • Content source: Provide the website URL to pull from
  3. Submit and wait for Ask AI to generate the full prompt.
  4. Copy the generated prompt.
2

Create the Managed Agent in Agent Studio

  1. Navigate to AI Agents → Agent Studio.
  2. Click to Create a New Managed Agent.
  3. Paste the copied prompt into the input field.
  4. Wait for the agent to build its instructions on the right-hand panel.
  5. Add your website URL as the content source.
  6. Confirm instructions update successfully.
3

Set Up the Monthly Schedule

  1. Set the start date (use the following day's date).
  2. Configure the recurring trigger (monthly).
  3. Confirm the schedule is saved — you will see a confirmation that the trigger is scheduled.
4

Enable Draft / Approval Mode (Months 1–2)

⚠ Important: Do NOT auto-publish on the first run. Use approval mode to review quality before any posts go live.
  1. In the prompt / instruction box, type:
"Schedule to draft for approval only"
  2. Confirm instructions are updated.
  3. The agent will now create the 30-day plan with captions and images but hold them for your review before posting.
  4. During the approval period, review:
    • ✅ Image quality and relevance
    • ✅ Caption tone and accuracy
    • ✅ Call to action placement
    • ✅ First comment links (Facebook & LinkedIn)
  5. Make adjustments anytime by typing changes into the left-hand prompt panel.
5

Publish the Agent

  1. Click Publish.
  2. Exit back to the Agent Studio dashboard.
6

Test the Agent

  1. Go to AI Agents → Agent Studio.
  2. Click on your agent.
  3. Type "Run Now" to trigger a test run.
  4. Review the output for accuracy, image quality, and formatting.
7

Switch to Auto-Publish (Once Satisfied)

  1. Once happy with content quality (typically after 1–2 months of review), click Edit Agent.
  2. Type the following instruction:
"Happy with the content you create. Please from now on schedule as approved."
  3. Click Publish again.
  4. The agent will now auto-schedule and publish posts without requiring manual approval.
